The Nancy P. Helmbold Travel Award

The Nancy P. Helmbold Travel Award is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate of Greek and/or Latin for travel to Greece and/or Italy. It may or may not be used for study or research, but it must be used in Greece and/or Italy.

The Award is expected to be worth $5,000 this year.

The Award is open to any student who has taken a course with a listing in Greek (GREK) or Latin (LATN) in the College.

To apply for the Fellowship, please submit to our Administrative Assistant, Kathy Fox, by the Monday of second week of Spring Quarter of third year:

1.

A current copy of your transcript, and

2.

An itinerary or project statement of 2-3 pages, and

3.

A provisional budget, and

4.

A faculty letter of recommendation.

The successful applicant must also submit a written report of what they achieved during the Fellowship to the Director of Undergraduate Studies by the first week of Autumn Quarter of fourth year.
