To apply for the MA in the Humanities (Classical Languages Option), you must submit the Division of the Humanities’ online application to the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities (MAPH). Applications are considered by both the MAPH admissions committee and the Department of Classics.

Admissions Requirements

MAPH expects applicants for the Classical Languages Option to have at least two years of either Greek or Latin and at least one year of the remaining language prior to the start of the course.

Applications must include the following materials:

1.  

A statement of academic purpose of no more than 1,000 words.

2.

A critical writing sample of 10-15 pages.

3.

A list of the Greek and Latin texts that you have read or plan to read in the original language prior to the start of the course.

4.

Three letters of recommendation from previous academic instructors.

5.

Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions.

6.

An application fee of $90
